Family relationship between spouses

Family relationships can be created by blood, adoption or marriage (spouse of a member of the biological or adoptive family).

You cannot get married or enter into a civil union if you and your spouse are:

  • Brother and sister;
  • Parent and child;
  • Grandfather or grandmother and grandchild;
  • Half-brother and half-sister.
